# How to Configure a Private Status Page

There are three distinct methods available to ensure the privacy of your status page:

1. **Semi-Private Status Page:** If you enable a status page without setting a short URL, IsDown will assign an UUID (Universally Unique Identifier). While this doesn't make the page fully private, it adds a basic layer of privacy by hiding the page behind an unlisted URL.
2. **Password-Protected Status Page:** You can also choose to protect your status page with a password. This option is available near the bottom of the status page settings. Once enabled, only people with the password will be able to view the page, adding an extra layer of privacy and control.
3. **IP Protected:** Another option is only to allow specific IPs to access the status page. You can define a specific IP or a range of IPs.
4. **Status Page SSO.** Set up SSO to protect your status page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.isdown.app/status-page/how-to-configure-a-private-status-page.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
